— By JP Mathews
Fashion Camp for Kids and Teens
House of Dezign Kids’ and Teen Fashion Camps are offered Monday through Friday for children ages 6 to 12 and 13 to 17, beginning July 12 and ending August 27. Your young child or teen may enroll in a full-day 9 AM to 3 PM program. Children ages 6 to 12 also may opt for the half-day 9 AM to noon program.
Designed to unlock and inspire the creativity of young minds, your child or teen will learn to:
- Use a sewing machine
- Create wearable garments and accessories with varied textiles
- Design mood boards
- Create a fashion collection
- Upcycle garments with fresh ideas that reflect current fashion trends and transform them into appealing, useable pieces
The 7-week program also offers kids background on the rich and exciting history of fashion, including videos on well-known fashion designers from the houses of Chanel, Dior, Gucci, and Lauren, to name a few.

At the end of each week, our young designers can invite family and friends to enjoy a fashion show of their own designs!
The founder of and creative spirit behind House of Design, Roya Ranjbar, says, “I’m eager to share my knowledge of and passion for fashion to inspire young, creative minds. My classes will allow children to explore and develop their ideas in a safe, nurturing, calm, and focused environment.
“There is no wrong idea in fashion.
Design is about unleashing and cultivating your creative spirit.
It’s a safe place for anyone to express her- or himself.”
